Man did I have a crappy day. It started with a very contentious meeting with a parent of one my special needs students. Then my AC went out in my classroom, did I mention it was 100 degrees today? The poor kids were sweating too! After flying around my room on my broomstick trying to catch up after being out all morning, my nose began to bleed. Since I have had several nose bleeds in the past few days (again 100 degree weather and o%humidity)I just kept going. Then I realized that my nose was not bleeding, it was gushing. Fast forward, 45 minutes later I go to the school nurse for some ice to put on my still gushing nose. After telling her it has been bleeding for almost an hour she says I need to go to the ER, because losing that much blood/overheating is not good for the baby. I wasn't freaked before, but now I am. Fast forward, 1 1/2 hours. I've now been at the ER for over an hour and no one has said word one about checking the baby's heart rate. I have now sat amongst coughing, sneezing, infected people, and had other people's children climbing over me and screaming and running around the waiting room. I wanted to ask them if they needed me to show them how to give a spanking. They were full of empty threats like going to sit in the hot car. Apparently, the two year old already knew they were all talk because he didn't slow down for a second. I actually got up and went and sat in the hallway to get away from them, and about ten minutes later they were out there too! The story ends with me crying,(blubbering) to the front desk lady that I just wanted them to check on my baby, and she let me talk to a nurse. He said that I would have to bleed from my nose for about 12 hours for it to have an affect on the baby, but that I needed to calm down because it was not good for the baby. I said "thanks, I was fine until I got here, please unadmit me now, and I'll be on my way." GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! I called my obgyn and they said as long as I have no spotting or cramping all is well, and they agreed that even a really bad nose bleed wouldn't hurt the baby. I think it was important to err on the side of caution, but I knew a nose bleed wasn't anything to go to the ER about! The good thing was that I figured out that I DO NOT want to have our baby in that hell hole, uh, I mean hospital. Now I'm home in my jammies, waiting for my hubby to get back from Duke University Hosp, where he has been on business since sunday. Can't wait (:

Wow what a day you had! I'm sorry. This heat can make your nose dry esp cuz its so hot and dry outside. You said: NOT want to have our baby in that hell hole, uh, I mean hospital. Are you going to have the baby at home? Well please feel better and if there is anything we can do please let us know! We would be more than happy to help out :)
No! Do you think I am a crazy woman! There are a few hospitals in our area, I have another one in mind, I just need to take a tour.
