Grandma Time

Liam and I had a very special visitor this weekend. Grandma Ruth came to stay with us. Of course I put her to work on bottle duty. We are down to only a couple days before I go back to work. They say that babies can smell their mama's from 20 feet away, so if you want them to take a bottle you really shouldn't even be in the house. Ruth said I could get out and she would stay with Liam, (she didn't have to offer twice). I escaped and had a pedicure and did a little school clothes shopping. Later I had a baby shower to go to, so again I left Liam to spend some time with Grandma. We decided to force the bottle issue, and wait for Liam to get hungry enough to take a bottle. He went from 9:30 in the morning until 5:30 in the evening! I felt bad imposing a cranky baby on Ruth, but she was a good sport, and she said he wasn't all that fussy. She was smart and took him for a walk in his stroller. It probably would have been much worse without it. Grandma was victorious in the end, and I am a little less stressed about going back to work. I just hope he doesn't have to go 8 hours without eating the next time he has to take a bottle! My poor baby!
