Aloha Maui!

We just returned from our trip to Maui with Will's parents. We had the most wonderful time! Here are some pictures from our trip. Vacation photos, yay!

The 6 hour flight was a little hairy, but we eventually made it. Liam stayed awake until the last fifteen minutes of the flight, and then zonked! The view from our balcony, right on the ocean. I wish I could always hear the waves crash like you could from our rooms. As much as I like the view, I think that Liam liked it more. He took every chance he could get to have someone (usually Poppi) take him out on the balcony and point out the ocean and trees and the pool and the kids and the birds and the... you get the point. We celebrated my birthday over and over and over again. I am clinging to my 20's for dear life!

Love this picture mostly because Liam really does look like he is catching a wave! We returned to the beach where we were married 5 years ago. It was very special to take our little guy back to the place where we vowed to love each other forever.

Will's Dad and Michele were married one beach down from where we were married. This is them on "their" beach.

We spent the first couple of days lounging by the pool. It had a wonderful kiddie pool, complete with a pirate ship!

I got in a lot of much needed reading by the pool!

Liam got in a lot of much needed digging in the sand.

Liam and Daddy had a lot of quality pirate time.

On my birthday Grandpa Poppi and Mimi kept Liam all day. Apparently Poppi got a little warn out. He seems to be sleeping on the job in the background of this picture...

Not to worry though, because Mimi was on the job!

Poppi woke up from his nap long enough to take a tour of the pirate ship.

Two very cool dudes headed for the pool, yet again. Every morning Will went down at 6:30 to put our towels down in the primo spot.

We had dinner at the Humuhumunuknukaapua'a (The name of the state fish of Hawaii). We sat at a special table out on the pond. It was perfect for corralling my wiggle worm of a child.

The food was fantastic, but the best part was the view!

Our wonderful hosts.

Liam did make it all the way through the meal in his high chair, but then he took a tour of laps.

Liam had a little cookie, with chocolate... Hey, we were on vacation, we had to let him live a little!

MMMMMMMMMM! Chocolate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On my birthday we took a boat out and went snuba diving (yes I said snuba, it's like scuba diving but the oxygen tank floats on a raft above you).
While out on the boat we saw spinner dolphins, bottle-nose dolphins and pilot whales. My favorite part was swimming with a sea turtle. One of the crew members said he thought he was about 25 years old and weighed about 150 pounds, young and small in sea turtle years!

That evening we went on a sunset cruise. The picture with the rainbow is a recreation of one we took on a sunset cruise on our honeymoon. We decided to do some snorkeling off the beach, near our hotel. Liam loved the ocean. Will said he said "Weeeeeeeeeeeeeee" every time a wave went by them.
What a beautiful end to a beautiful vacation. We had so much fun with Bill and Michele, and Liam loved spending time with his Poppi and Mimi.
