Liam David is One!

My Dearest Liam,

We first met one year ago today, but it feels as if we have always known you. In fact I only have a vague recollection of what life was like before you came along. I sit here tonight reflecting on this past year and pondering what your future holds. Who will you be, what will you do, what places will you go and how will the world be different because you were in it? I want to give you everything, but the truth is that eventually I will only be able to stand back and watch, hoping that I gave you everything you need to stand on your own two feet and face what life throws your way. So, on your first birthday, my wish for you is that you get your Daddy's charisma, your Grandma Kris's strength and the ability to always see the good in people, your Grandpa Dave's character and the ability to forgive, your Grandma Janis's optimism, your Grandma Ruth's heart, your Grandpa Bill's initiative, and your Grandma Michele's vigor. But, above all these things I wish that the same love that I feel for you will one day be in your heart for your children, because it is truly the greatest gift of all.
