Injured Reserve

Our littlest guy took a bad fall resulting in a fractured tibia and fibula that has him stuck in a full leg cast for 4-6 weeks. He’s being a good sport about it, most of the pain seems to have subsided with the stabilization of the cast. He was still even able to climb out of his crib, leading us to switch to a toddler bed before we would have liked! He scooted and crawled for the first two weeks, but around the third week, he gave walking a try, and can now get around pretty well.
Special stuffy from Grandma Cookie, Huggy Pup.

We had a soft cast for the first three days waiting for the swelling to go down. Very stressful for this mama trying to keep him from putting weight on it and causing the bones to slip past each other which would require pins and surgery to correct.

First cast, took some serious getting used to in holding and carrying. I ran into several chairs, doors and walls with it on the way out of the doctor’s office!

Grant rediscovered floor toys that he hadn’t given a second look in over a year!

Brother snuggles

Second cast after his heel started to slide up in the first.

Sometimes brotherly love means hitching a ride through the house.

X-ray from the day after. Rough day for everyone!
