Introducing Grant Nicolas Ross

Our beautiful baby boy, Grant Nicolas, was born Saturday, December 12th, 5:30am. He weighed in at 8lbs 4.5oz and was 19.5 inches long.

Grant's Birth Story
We patiently awaited Grants arrival for weeks! Okay, not very patiently to tell the truth. Fearing another 9lb baby, I walked countless miles and ate several pineapples (yes, seriously) in the weeks leading up to Grant's birth. Grandma Cookie was on baby watch for nearly two weeks before Grandpa Dave and Grandma Shiny arrived for their visit and relieved Grandma of that duty! Who would have guessed that Grant would come that very night! We went to bed on the 11th with little hope since I had had similar contractions for nearly a week, but after rescueing Reed from a nightmare and setting him up on the floor in our room around 1:00 am my contractions kicked into high gear. I timed a few of them, and then woke up Will to tell him it was time to go. After spiffing up a bit to look nice for his first picture with his new son, we were off! When we arrived at the hospital my contractions were about 5 minutes apart, however December 11th was a busy night in Labor and Delivery so we waited 2 hours in triage before getting a room. After finally getting a room, we waited another hour for an epidural that I would soon regret. The anesthesiologist running into to the door and falling down on his way out of the room should have been a clue! After about another hour of contractions the doctor came in to check me, and said "We're ready!" She broke my water and about 30 excruciating minutes later we had our precious boy in our arms. He was so strong and alert, he lifted his head up off my chest immediately. We can't wait to see what this man is going to add to our little family!
